Happy Birthday, Mackensie Love!

Can you believe that Mackensie's first birthday has come and gone? What happened to this year? Everyone warned me that time flies, but it just whipped by me and left me spinning. Our Kensie Lovebug has blessed each of these past 365 days. How did we ever get along without her?

Here are some of Kensie's characteristics and behaviors that make her so special:
* She loves to give kisses. She has recently started offering kisses without being asked. Even though she kisses with her mouth open and slobbers the entire side of my face, my heart melts with each and every "peck".
* She is walking (toddling) everywhere she goes. She took 3 steps, independent of each other, and then nothing for a week or so. Without warning, all of a sudden, she was off! Walking like a pro. The past few days she's been trying to run.... a work in progress.
* She can now shake her head "no". We can't decide where she learned that, but we sure are seeing it a lot!
* She has 8 teeth, and loves loves loves to have them brushed. She sees the toothbrush on the counter, and automatically opens her mouth and says "Aaah"
* She loves to sleep. (She's definitely her parents' baby!)
* She absolutely adores Wonder Pets and Dora the Explorer. If we want her to smile for the camera, all we need to do is start singing one of their theme songs.
* She's climbing. Matter of fact, she climbed on top of a toy the other day, and proceeded to fall face first into the entertainment center. Lots of blood, but no permanent damage. (And Mommy didn't pass out when it happened... just had to go down the street for some Mommy support from Elyse:) )
* She can wave & say "bye bye", can say "baby" when she sees one, and sometimes, if she feels like it, will say "Momma" and "Dadda".
* She loves to play peekaboo. She will put a blanket on her head and play for several minutes at a time.
* She is very tickilish. Sometimes it's difficult to change her diaper, she scrunches up like a roly-poly. Of course, that only encourages me to tickle her even more!
* She has a fantastic laugh.
"Thank you, Lord, for all your many blessings. As I reflect on Mackensie's first year, I am overwhelmed with the love that I feel for this child of mine. How amazing that you love her even more! Thank you for loaning her to us; may Jason and I raise her to know and love you personally."
